STREET LIBRARY
A small pavilion designed for free book exchange that gives the possibility to recycle books that are not in use, has a cultural impact by motivating people to read more and creates a new social spot for the local community.
The design is inspired by book pages/ binding. Ephemerality, lightness, transparency are the keywords for the design that lets the books be highlighted. Walking in through the ‘book pages’, one finds himself in another dimension created by written words.
The work is the result of winning an open competition for practical public art held by Station Narva festival.
